Events and Conferences

The Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD) will be organizing its annual conference on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2019.

This year, the conference will take on a different format with a number of panels discussing various provocative topics which will also challenge some of the perceptions surrounding disabled persons. Familiar topics of accessibility, sexuality, education, employment, perceptions and rights will be debated from refreshing perspectives, enabling an exchange of different viewpoints and the creation of a real debate.

The ‘Protect and Let Go’ conference was held on 19 October from 9am to 1pm at the Faculty of ICT, University of Malta campus.

The theme discussed is the (over)protection of persons with a disability by their parents/guardians.

The conference is being organised by CRPD in collaboration with the Department of Disability Studies, Faculty for Social WellBeing at the University of Malta.

The conference is mostly aimed at parents; however, persons with a disability who would like to attend are also welcome.
